A Necessary Conversation About Truth, Care, and Hope
Recently, our founder Bob McDonell had the opportunity to join the “You’re The Voice” podcast for a conversation hosted by Efrat Fenigson that touches on some of the hardest realities facing vulnerable children and young women today: abuse, exploitation, and trafficking.
These are not easy topics to engage with, but they are necessary ones. They reflect the lived experiences of many of the children and young mothers we walk alongside at Mi Casa and House of Life. In this conversation, Bob shares why acknowledging these realities matters, and why true healing requires more than temporary solutions. Restoration takes time, faithful presence, and long-term care rooted in dignity and family.
Efrat also thoughtfully captured the heart of this conversation in a written piece on her blog. Her reflections provide important context, depth, and clarity around why these issues must be spoken about honestly, and how hope can still take root even in the midst of brokenness.
We invite you to take time to read her post and listen to the conversation if you feel led. It is shared with respect, care, and a deep commitment to honoring the lives and stories involved.
