The Rooms Taking Shape at House of Life
Construction projects are often measured in percentages. At House of Life, we measure them differently.
Today, we're excited to share that the two new rooms under construction at House of Life in El Salvador are now 60% complete, and since our last update, the roof has gone up. It's built with a little extra vision in mind: enough structure to allow for a possible second floor down the road, if the need is ever there.
These two rooms will soon welcome eight additional young mothers and their babies into a safe, loving environment where they can experience healing, stability, education, and hope.
What once felt like a distant vision is now becoming reality.
Getting the Rooms Ready
Right now, these rooms are walls, windows, and a finished roof, waiting. What they still need is what turns a room into somewhere to belong: a bed with sheets pulled tight, a closet with a few small things folded inside, a welcome basket by the door with soap, a toothbrush, a water bottle.
That's what's left to finish: not the building, but the belonging. For eight mothers and their babies, that adds up to about $10,000, the beds they'll sleep in, the closets that will hold their things, the welcome baskets waiting the moment they walk in. Our goal is to have every room ready before September, when they arrive.

Beyond September: Sustaining Their Care
Getting the rooms ready is only the beginning. Once these eight mothers and their babies arrive, their care becomes an ongoing need — diapers, formula, medical visits, clothing, food — month after month. Here's what an ongoing gift makes possible:
$15 — a box of 8 packs of baby wipes
$45 — a box of 144 diapers
$75 — food and nutrition for a mother and child
$150 — medical and prenatal care
$300 — a month of housing, care, and support
$600 — sustains a mother and child for an entire month at House of Life

New Milestones, New Stories
While construction continues, life at House of Life doesn't wait. One of our girls, now in 10th grade, has passed all of her courses this year and is on track to finish in late November, dedicated, hardworking, and one of the best students in her class.
Our teen mamas have also launched something of their own this summer: a small personalization business, with their first big order complete and delivered. Watching them build something with their own hands is its own kind of room being made: room for confidence, for independence, for a future they're shaping themselves.
Every gift, every prayer, and every person who walks alongside this mission helps turn empty rooms into homes filled with hope. That's what this season represents at House of Life — not just construction, but the ongoing work of making room for more of this family to belong.
